Pastoral Team

David Carreon

Pastor Dave enjoys leading a congregation to a place of worship in both music and the spoken Word. He enjoys teaching and mentoring other worship leaders. He understands that developing a cohesive worship service from start to finish can help bring people to a clearer understanding of the love of God. With over 20 years of experience in youth ministry, and now as the worship pastor for the PUC Church, Pastor Dave strives towards a relational approach to ministry where teaching and developing new leaders happens as we walk through a shared journey of seeking God’s presence together.

Kent Rufo

Pastor Kent arrived at PUC in January of 2019 to serve as the Campus Chaplain. He has been in pastoral ministry for 17 years, 12 specifically working with youth and young adults. Teaching and mentoring students has always been at the heart of his ministry. Pastor Kent believes that the center of Christianity is “relationships” and that the Seventh-day Adventist Church will thrive only through strong relationships with God and each other. Additionally to being our Chaplain, Pastor Kent serves as Missions Director.

George Tuyu

Pastor George is passionate about Youth Ministry. From an early age, he followed the call God placed on his heart to constantly be active in building His kingdom. From Pathfinders to Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, and also Young Adult Ministry in his five years of pastoral work, Pastor George has found that there is nothing more fulfilling than seeing a young person understand, know, and realize the love that God has for them. In his spare time, Pastor George enjoys cycling, playing tennis, and cooking. He is also a big dog lover with a puppy named Zion and has recently become engaged to the love of his life, Leanna Arredondo. An alumnus of PUC, class of 2017, he loves our campus on the hill and holds true to these three life statements: Love God. Love People. Love Life.

John Hughson

John retired from his position as administrative pastor in December of 2016, continuing to serve the church as part-time assistant treasurer and then as part-time interim administrative pastor until retiring completely on June 30, 2021. John has a wealth of knowledge, and we are grateful that he continues to share his spiritual talents with our church community.
