Pastoral Team

Chanda M. Nunes

Pastor Chanda began her pastoral journey in 2003, and has served the Alberta, Kansas-Nebraska, and currently Northern California Conferences, and has ministered (respectively) as youth pastor, elementary/boarding academy chaplain, associate pastor, administrative pastor, family life pastor, and now as our Senior Pastor.

In addition to her Religious degrees (BA, MDiv.,) she also holds associate degrees in Private Investigation & Paralegal Studies (1997), and is also a Certified Life Coach Practitioner, (2011).

She is a trailblazer and has been a “first” in every position she has held. On July 1, 2020, she became the first woman and first person of color to serve as the Senior Pastor for the Pacific Union College (PUC) Church.

Meet her just once, and you will see her passion and love radiating for Jesus and His people!

David Carreon

Pastor Dave enjoys leading a congregation to a place of worship in both music and the spoken Word.  He enjoys teaching and mentoring other worship leaders.  He understands that developing a cohesive worship service from start to finish can help bring people to a clearer understanding of the love of God.  With over 20 years of experience in Youth Ministry, and now as the worship pastor for the PUC church, Pastor Dave strives towards a relational approach to ministry where teaching and developing new leaders happens as we walk through a shared journey of seeking God’s presence together.

Kent Rufo

Pastor Kent arrived at PUC in January of 2019 to serve as the Campus Chaplain. He has been in pastoral ministry for 17 years, 12 specifically working with youth and young adults. Teaching and mentoring students has always been at the heart of his ministry. Pastor Kent believes that the center of Christianity is “relationships” and that the Seventh-day Adventist Church will thrive only through strong relationships with God and each other. Additionally to being our Chaplain, Pastor Kent serves as Missions Director.
